# How to Make It:

01 - Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
02 - Boil the peeled and chunked potatoes in salted water until fork-tender, approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Drain and return them to the pot.
03 - Add butter, milk, and grated cheddar to the potatoes; mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
04 - Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and carrots, and sauté for 5 minutes until softened.
05 - Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute. Incorporate ground beef and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon until browned.
06 - Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Add tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, broth, and peas. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
07 - Transfer the meat filling into an 8x8 inch (20x20 cm) baking dish.
08 - Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the meat filling and sprinkle extra grated cheddar on top.
09 - Bake for 20 minutes until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling. For additional browning, broil for 2 to 3 minutes at the end if desired.
10 - Allow the dish to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
