15 - 1 cup assorted candies (gumdrops, mini pretzels, chocolate buttons, sprinkles, candy canes, etc.)
16 - 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional, for snow effect)
17 - 1/4 cup mini marshmallows (optional)
# How to Make It:
01 - Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, cream softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Incorporate molasses and egg, mixing thoroughly.
03 - In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
04 - Gradually add dry mixture to wet ingredients, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
05 - Divide dough in half. Roll each half between parchment sheets to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut panels using templates: 2 walls (4x6 inches), 2 roof pieces (5x7 inches), 2 side walls (4x5 inches).
06 - Place panels on prepared sheets and bake 12 to 15 minutes until edges are firm. Cool fully on wire rack.
07 - Beat egg whites until foamy. Slowly add sifted powdered sugar and lemon juice, continue beating until thick and glossy. Transfer to piping bag fitted with a small round tip.
08 - Pipe royal icing along edges of panels and join to construct the house. Hold pieces together briefly until set and allow 30 minutes drying time.
09 - Use remaining icing to pipe decorative details and attach candies, shredded coconut, and mini marshmallows as desired. Let dry completely before displaying or serving.
